About Fed Camp Finder
Fed Camp Finder is a directory of campgrounds on federal land — 5,794 of them, from the Recreation Information Database (RIDB), the same federal dataset behind Recreation.gov. It covers campgrounds run by the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
What it does not cover: state parks, county and city campgrounds, and every private RV park and campground. Those are most of America's campgrounds — this site is deliberately only the federal third.
How the fields are built. Site counts, hookups, and RV lengths are counted site by site from the individual campsite records in the federal data (public campsites only; staff and management sites are excluded from the counts). A hookup is counted only when a campsite record affirmatively reports it — a silent record is counted neither as yes nor as no, and pages say “as reported” wherever a figure is an aggregation. Fees and seasons are shown in the managing agency’s own words where the listing carries them. Months open is not published in the federal data at all, so the field says exactly that rather than guess. Where the federal record is silent, the page says “Not reported” — an honest blank, never an invented value.
Freshness. The dataset is the RIDB full export pulled November 5, 2026; agencies edit the underlying records continuously, so any single fact can age. Every page names its pull date, and the booking button goes to Recreation.gov, which is always current.
Facility details come from federal recreation data and may be out of date — this site takes no reservations and shows no live availability; confirm details and book through Recreation.gov or the managing agency.
Data Source: Recreation.gov. Fed Camp Finder is a private directory, not a government site, and is not affiliated with the agencies listed.
